PE
At St Mary Magdalene's, we are committed to developing confident, active and healthy children who enjoy physical activity and understand the importance of leading an active lifestyle. Our PE curriculum is delivered through Lancashire PE Passport and Max Whitlock Gymnastics, providing a progressive pathway of skills, knowledge and personal development from EYFS to Year 6.
Lessons are further enhanced through specialist coaching from Little Lions, led by Mr Lee, helping children develop their skills, confidence and enthusiasm across a range of sports and physical activities.
Physical activity extends beyond curriculum lessons. At playtimes and lunchtimes, children have access to a wide range of games and activities through our MUGA and organised activities led by Mrs Fletcher, promoting active play, teamwork and enjoyment.
We are proud to offer a wide range of competitive and participation opportunities through the Burnley School Sport Partnership (SSP), local school competitions and Trust events. Whether competing, performing or simply taking part for enjoyment, all children are encouraged to represent the school, challenge themselves and experience the benefits of sport and physical activity.
Through PE and school sport, we aim to develop resilient, respectful and motivated pupils who understand the value of teamwork, perseverance and healthy living.
