Year 5 - Saint Teresa of Calcutta

"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

Staff: Mr McCaffrey and Mrs Duffy.

In Year 5, we believe that every child is wonderfully made, with their own gifts and talents to share. Our classroom is a safe, supportive, and inspiring space where children are encouraged to try their best, build resilience, and grow in self-belief. We celebrate effort, perseverance, and kindness just as much as success, recognising that mistakes are an important part of learning and growth.

Our learning journey is guided by the principles of Catholic Social Teaching. We place Christ at the centre of all we do, striving to live out values such as dignity, respect, responsibility, and compassion. Whether through our studies, our friendships, or our service to others, we aim to follow Jesus’ example by making a positive difference in our school and in the wider community.

This year promises to be an exciting one, full of opportunities to learn, to question, to grow, and to shine. Together, we will support one another to become confident, caring, and faith-filled individuals.

Our Class Saint – St Mother Teresa

In Year 5, our class saint is St Mother Teresa of Calcutta. She is remembered around the world for her deep faith, her love for Jesus, and her tireless work serving the poor and the sick. Mother Teresa believed that every person was precious to God and deserved to be treated with dignity, kindness, and compassion.

We chose St Mother Teresa as our class saint because she inspires us to live out our faith through action. She reminds us that even small acts of love can make a big difference, and that by serving others we are serving Christ. Her life encourages us to be generous, caring, and resilient in all that we do.
