Class information:
Year 6 (The Guardians) are working within the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum, striving to improve and achieve their end of year targets. The children complete SATs booklets within English Reading, Mathemetics and Grammar, as well as working hard to meet the expected standard for writing. Our current class novel is Running Wild, which follows our past novel - Kensuke's Kingdom - as both are written by the same author, Michael Morpurgo. The children have a responsibility to be role models and guardians to the whole school, but in particular, their chosen seeds (Reception children). The children meet up frequently and guide their seed through their first year of school.
Within Year 6, children will be focusing their knowledge across a wide range of core and foundation subjects/topics. Such topics will include: 'Vocation & Commitment' in Religious Studies, 'Evolution & Inheritance' in Science and 'Where our energy comes from' within Geography, plus many more! Please see curriculum page for more details.
